Palm

Palm authentication uses near-infrared palm scanning to verify that the user is physically present and matches the PalmID associated with their WinkID.

When it is triggered?:

• User has a PalmID linked to their Wink account.
• The device supports the required mobile capabilities.
• App configuration allows or requires palm as a second factor.

User experience:

• The user is prompted to raise their hand within the camera frame.
• The SDK guides alignment and captures the palm pattern.
• Authentication completes once the palm is verified.

Strengths:

• Extremely resistant to spoofing.

• Works reliably across lighting conditions.

• Pixel patterns are unique and cannot be reconstructed visually.
